California Court Certification Preparation Program (CCCPP)


• Medical Interpreter Program and Preparation for the State examination

• Court Interpreter Program and Preparation for the State examination

COURSE DURATION
Each phase of the Interpreter Certification Programs are an elective course of 10 weeks long (one 4.0 hr. session per week).

Both, the Medical Interpreter Certification Program and the Administrative Hearings Interpreter Certification Program have a nine month duration. Students must devote a minimum of 10-12 hrs. per weekly session to comply with homework assignments, research, and language labs to practice and complete required readings.

ELECTIVE WORKSHOPS/COURSES
These courses are offered to enhance the candidate’s ability in any of the three interpreting modes (Sight Translation, Consecutive Interpretation and Simultaneous Interpretation) or in all three Interpreter Certificate Programs.

VIDEO CLASS MAKEUP
OCVIA’s students are responsible for any material covered in class as well as for homework assignments. Therefore, all classes will be videotaped and available for class make up, upon request (by appointment only), to be viewed on campus by the student who may have missed one (two, or three maximum) class(es) due to illness or any special circumstances.

Focuses on Administrative hearing procedures and terminology. Students are introduced to the scopes and duties in performing these prodeures. OCVIA will offer this course in the near future.
